Snowmobile Safety Training

Snowmobile Safety & Operations  program is a hands-on training program, with particular emphasis on the safety implications relating to each lesson covered in the program.

First day of the program consists of 6 – 7 hours of classroom theory along with hands-on demonstrations and  attention to specific details relating to at least two types of snowmobiles in our shop area.

Instructor and students will discuss, as well go through day packs that will be needed for the field session on  day 2 to ensure students are prepared for the outdoor field session on a snowmobile.

  • Local laws and regulations
  • Environmental concerns
  • Safety techniques

Second Day is the hands-on field session of the program includes a pre-ride inspection of each machine, starting and stopping, turning (gradual & quick), hills (stopping, turning around, traversing), emergency stopping, swerving and riding over obstacles.

The key to safe enjoyment of any off-highway vehicle is being responsible, using common sense and practicing important skills, all of which are covered and practiced in this program.

Participants must provide Snowmobile, approved helmet, protective footwear, protective eye-wear and appropriate clothing as the training takes place in the outdoors.

Full participation, hands-on skills and a written examination are required to successfully complete the program and receive certification which is valid for 3 years.

  • Snowmobile (Good Condition)
  • Proper winter outer wear (Clothing, Boots, Gloves, Helmet, Goggles).
  • Large bottle of water for hydration
  • Bagged Lunch

 

Day 1 – Check-In: 7:45am
Start Time: 8:00am sharp

Day 2 – Students will meet instructor at a field location
(Be prepared for a long day)

Cost: $325.00 + tax

Snowmobiles available for a rental fee of:
$325.00
+ tax  per/machine
Rental price includes: helmet, fuel, delivery and pick-up.

ATV Safe Rider

Canada Safety Council ATV Safe Rider program  is a one day ATV (Quad) rider course.

The program consists of both classroom and a field session/hands-on, with particular emphasis on the safety implications relating to each lesson covered in the program.

The field session/hands-on portion of the program includes unloading of machine, a pre-ride inspection of each machine, starting and stopping, turning (gradual and quick), hills (stopping, turning around, traversing), emergency stopping, swerving, and riding over obstacles.

Topics Include:

  • Personal protective gear
  • Local laws and regulations
  • Environmental concerns
  • Machine breakdown
  • Safety techniques
  • Loading, unloading & securing

Upon completion of the field skills, the instructor will demonstrate and allow the students to load and secure the ATV machine on a trailer.
